Communication system

Walkie-talkies are handheld, portable radios: they speak Wirelessly (using radio waves) on a single, shared frequency band. Each battery-powered unit includes a transmitter/receiver and antenna (for sending and receiving radio waves), a loudspeaker that regularly doubles up as a microphone whilst you speak into it, and a button which you “push-to-Talk” (PTT). The loudspeaker/microphone works in a whole lot the same manner as an intercom: because a speaker and a microphone incorporate basically the identical additives (a coil of cord, a magnet, and a paper or plastic cone to pick out up or generate sounds), you could use a single device to do each jobs basically by switching the electrical circuit into which it’s linked and reversing the contemporary. Greater state-of-the-art walkie-talkies (just like the Motorola version proven in our pics) include separate loudspeakers and microphones.
